And in the Beginning.....

Do you like heavy storyline or more focused on gameplay?  How about the opening of the game, do you like watching the opening scenes or do you skip them to jump straight in?

I like heavy storyline to enter in the game.
I like a little introduction but we can avoid after a first video look.

I like some backstory to a game as well to get a feel for characters and at least a hint of what happened to get us where we are. However, I do find myself annoyed with games that make you watch a mini movie before you can start play. I guess finding the happy balance is the trick. Besides, with some games, finding the answers as you play keeps my attention.

I appreciate a solid storyline to give the characters depth and context, but super long unskippable cutscenes right at the start can feel like a roadblock when you're just excited to start playing.

For me, the best games are the ones that drop subtle backstory elements and lore directly into the environment or gameplay as you explore. Finding answers along the way definitely keeps things engaging without slowing down the pacing
